Wegovy (semaglutide) is a once weekly prescription injectable medication designed to support long-term weight management in adults and certain adolescents with obesity, or adults who are overweight with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol. It works by mimicking the GLP-1 hormone to help regulate appetite, increase feelings of fullness, and reduce calorie intake.

Typical Dosing Schedule
- Weeks 1–4: 0.25 mg once weekly
- Weeks 5–8: 0.5 mg once weekly
- Weeks 9–12: 1 mg once weekly
- Weeks 13–16: 1.7 mg once weekly
- Week 17 onward: 2.4 mg once weekly (maintenance dose)
- For eligible patients who require additional weight loss after treatment with 2.4 mg, a healthcare provider may recommend transitioning to Wegovy HD 7.2 mg.
