Rybelsus (semaglutide) is a prescription oral GLP-1 receptor agonist used to help improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is also prescribed off-label by some healthcare providers to support weight loss by reducing appetite, increasing feelings of fullness, and slowing stomach emptying. Unlike injectable GLP-1 medications, Rybelsus is taken as a tablet once daily.

Typical Dosing Schedule
- Days 1–30: 3 mg once daily (starting dose)
- Day 31 onward: Increase to 7 mg once daily
- If additional blood sugar control or weight management is needed after at least 30 days on 7 mg, the dose may be increased to 14 mg once daily.

Important Safety Information
Rybelsus should not be used by individuals with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). It is not recommended during pregnancy. Take Rybelsus on an empty stomach with no more than 4 ounces (120 mL) of plain water, at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking, or taking any other oral medications. Always use Rybelsus exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
